Fashion, food, lifestyle and culture in St Albans
I happen to think that I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the south of England. This pretty spot in Hertfordshire looks like a town, feels like a village, but actually holds City status, thanks to her ever so impressive Cathedral.
It’s sophisticated enough to show off to your London friends who are still horrified that you made the move to the ‘burbs, current enough to trick you into thinking that you are not actually living too far from your beloved London, and lovely enough to convince you each time you stroll through the cobbled streets that you made the right choice to move.
Finding somewhere that feels like home is in fact not as easy as Kirsty and Phil would have us believe. St Albans however, manages the impossible, despite the ever changing face of the high street, it always feel like home.
But our familiar little Roman city is no dowdy wall flower. Over the years she has become a very desirable ‘nesting’ destination, sending out her ‘Come Settle and Procreate Here’ beacon like a Bat signal- and it’s all the trendy Urbanites can do to flock into her loving embrace.
She eases the transition by offering them a style of life that they have grown accustomed to in the stylish Capital, whilst giving them that country community feel that they have moved for. It has exactly what you need to maintain your lovely life.
This blog is here to explore, unearth and showcase the best that St Albans has to offer in Fashion & Beauty, Food, Arts and Culture and Lifestyle. You don’t have to go so far to find fabulous boutique fashion, scrummy eateries, artistic hubs and stylish homeware havens.
I can’t remember which came first, the migrating chic city folk with high expectations or the sophisticated micro city that’s definitely a worthy sub for urban living. Either way, St Albans supports all its inhabitants by offering them a comfortably glamorous way of life.
There really is no place like home.
