5 mins with Deryane Tadd about this year’s glamorous gowns at the Emmys
The glitz and glamour from the 2012 Emmys…
Deryane Tadd is the hugely talented and successful owner of The Dressing Room boutique on St Albans’ High Street. Deryane and her boutique have won numerous industry awards and have recently featured in both Vogue and Glamour. We caught up with Deryane, to pick her brain about all the glamour at this year’s Emmys.
What do you think of the gowns this year?
Nice, but not amazing! I was hoping to see some something a little more stylish!
Who do you think was best dressed?
I like Claire Danes in the yellow Lanvin dress – a simple shape in next season’s yellow – very on trend.
What do you think these gowns predict about upcoming fashion trends?
There is a real trend for brights next season, which translates really well into dressy gowns, it gives a formal gown a point of difference.
How do red carpet looks affect The Dressing Room?
The red carpet looks always filter down into the collections, so invariably they have a knock on effect into what we stock. However, I never slavishly follow the red carpet for inspiration – I prefer a more individual style!
What can we hope to see coming up in The Dressing Room for evening/occassion wear?
For pre – Christmas we have some fabulous dresses from some US designers – lots of glam beading and ruching to make you stand out from the crowd. For SS/13 we have an amazing new Scandinavian brand with some stunning silk dresses in brights and gorgeous prints. If you don’t have an occasion to go to, these will make you want to invent one!
Pop into The Dressing Room, 6-8 St Albans High Street, to take advantage of Deryane’s sensational eye for style.
